Quinta Dos Vales in Estombar, western Algarve in the Lagoa district. The vineyard spreads over a 20 hectare site, it is well worth mentioning the vineyard for the many reasons listed below. Quinta Do Vales has much to offer for those wanting to visit the Algarve. You can even stay in the vineyard ground in either a farm house or the luxury manor house, it has something for every one including young families.  The owner  of Quinta Dos Vales is also a well known artist and his sculptures can be seen all around the vineyard as well as other events held across the Algarve. They include life size elephants in a tree dancing hippos and many other animals the passion extends into the grounds of the vineyard with its petting zoo offering visitors a chance to see the many animals on display. For those with a more serous side  why not take the opportunity to go along to one of the wine tasting's, Quinta Dos Vales has more the 50 award winning medals under its belt along with many other awards for its excellent wines. The vineyard aims for Quality rather than quantity. So whilst you may not see it in a supermarket in your home town; it is still possible for you to buy direct from the vineyards shop and take it home with you.

Each year the Vineyard holds an Open day, it lays on an event that is well known in the events calendar it first started its open day back in 2003. The event proved to be so popular it now holds the event twice a year in the first week-end of April and October. As well as wine tasting's they have many stall with artist selling home produce from fine breads, cheeses , hams and sausages, to Jewellery hand crafted pottery and many other traditional crafts and gifts regional to Portugal. The event starts at 11:am and follows many different shows and workshop throughout the day, including live horse dressage, live music with traditional dancing the event goes on until 7:pm. With the event being totally free it would be wise to get there early as not only would you miss the many events. Don’t worry about parking as they lay on a huge car park with staff to guide you in and out when arriving and leaving.

Just a small selection of some of the stalls selling  handmade and handcrafted products, Quinta Dos Vales holds many events throughout the year below is a small group having a tour of the vineyard with the tour guide explaining how the wine is picked produced then bottled through the whole wine production steps. The well kept gardens and grounds make an ideal event for that special occasion even weddings can be hosted and catered for, holding up to 300 guests.
