Odiaxere in Western Algarve is a small village under the parish of Lagos; with its charms as other Algarve villages. But the fact that the EN125 runs right through the middle, Odiaxere appears to be left off the tourist map. You will be very hard pushed to find any information on Odiaxere.
The village offers a good stop off point, for many reasons. Odiaxere village has plenty of good restaurants with the food being more traditional than nearby coastal town of Lagos. A lunch can be as little €6 including wine, in the local restaurants with fresh fish arriving daily (except Sundays). Odiaxere has a good size indoor daily fish and produce market having the bonus of not having to join long queues in the summer months. Outside is decorated with hand painted tiled panel on the walls. There are stone tables and benches that are enjoyed by locals who play domino´s and cards in the shade or can be used for a picnic lunch. The market is an ideal stop off point with the bonus of not having to join long queues in the summer months for fresh fish in the busier nearby towns.
